Our product and materials:
Each and every bush strap is hand-made in South Africa out of the best quality material. Our paracord is not an imitation product and is the genuine 7 strand 550 paracord used by the US Military.
Our gear has many uses and are great gifts.
Once un-tied it can be used for tying, securing and so forth. The Yarns of the core (commonly referred to as "the guts") can also be removed when finer string is needed for sewing or repairing gear, used for fishing line in a survival situation and many more.
What is 550 paracord:
Parachute cord (also paracord or 550 cord) is a lightweight nylon kernmantle rope originally used in the suspension lines of US parachutes during World War II. Once in the field, paratroopers found this cord useful for many other tasks. It is now used as a general purpose utility cord by both military personnel and civilians. This versatile cord was even used by astronauts during STS-82, the second Space Shuttle mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope.
The braided sheath has a high number of interwoven strands for its size, giving it a relatively smooth texture.
550 paracord has a break strength of 550lb (249kg). So it is very durable and strong.
It is many uses for survival camping and just everyday situations. The usage is endless!
Our standard enclosure option is the adjustable d-shackle. The shackle is made out of 316 Stainless steel and also has a break strength of 250kg. The adjustable piece is for comfort and to make the size slightly more adjustable.
If you prefer the standard side-release plastic clip, you can chose this option. This option is not available on the Wide survival wrist band and also not on the Original Bush Strap. This plastic clip is curved for a more comfortable fit.
The Wide survival wrist band comes standard with the Stainless Steel Bow shackle. This is also made from 316 Stainless Steel and has a 250kg break strenght.
